YF Series – Compact Grand Concert Guitars

The Daion YF series is a line of grand concert guitars specially designed for women, young players, and those with smaller hands. Despite the compact 9.5 cm body depth, the YF series retains almost the same length, string spacing, and tonal quality as traditional dreadnoughts. This makes the guitars comfortable to play while delivering a full, balanced tone with excellent resonance.

The series includes models such as the YF-15, YF-20, YF-25, YF-30, and YF-50, each with variations in top wood (spruce or solid fir), back and sides (mahogany or rosewood), and strings (Japan or USA). With carefully selected woods, rosewood fingerboards and bridges, and a Nato neck, these guitars offer both playability and professional sound quality.

With this compact yet powerful construction, the Daion YF series combines aesthetics, comfort, and rich tone in a handy size—ideal for players who want a full dreadnought experience in a smaller, easy-to-play guitar.

The YF series is a concert or grand concert guitar with a slightly shallower body than a traditional dreadnought. Although Daion promoted the YF series as “small and easy to play,” the dimensions are surprisingly close to a dreadnought. For instance, the length (101 cm) and string spacing are nearly identical, and the width at the bottom differs by less than one centimeter from the YW series.

The main difference lies in body depth. The YF is 9.5 cm deep along the body, while the YW reaches 12.5 cm at its thickest point. Standard acoustic strings are used on the YF, just like a dreadnought.

YD-serie – Klassiek design met opvallende details

De YD-serie valt meteen op door haar rode doorschijnende schildpad-slagplaat en de sneeuwvlok-inleg op de toets. Daarnaast heeft de headstock Yamaki’s versie van het bekende Martin “Torch” ontwerp. Op veel modellen staat “EST. 1954”, wat zowel bij Yamaki- als Daion-versies voorkomt.
