Daion Bit

Daion BIT: Unique Japanese Acoustic Guitars

The Daion BIT series represents one of Daion’s most unique and rare lines of Japanese acoustic guitars, designed for musicians who value both quality and exclusivity. These models were never sold in the United States and are primarily available in Japan, with limited availability in the United Kingdom. Each instrument in the Daion BIT series combines Daion’s renowned craftsmanship with innovative details, making them highly sought after by collectors and professional guitarists. The BIT guitars share several design features with other popular Daion series, such as the distinctive oval soundhole of the ’80 Year Series, subtle fingerboard inlays like the YW-50, and a headstock reminiscent of the ’81 Caribou and Gazelle acoustic models. These elements provide not only a visually recognizable style but also a consistent, high-quality playing experience.

Daion BIT Snake Loaded

The most striking feature of the Daion BIT is the “Snake Loaded” sticker at the 20th fret. This indicates that Daion installed a transducer under the bone bridge, allowing the guitar to be amplified without external controls. The input jack at the bottom also serves as the endpin.

Unlike the Caribou and Gazelle models, the BIT has no slide volume or tone controls. This keeps the guitar purely acoustic, preserving its natural tone.

Materials and Build Quality

The BIT guitars feature a bone nut and a bone bridge saddle. The top is made of solid spruce, and the fingerboard is rosewood. On the B-54E model, the back and sides are made of Nato, while the B-55E uses rosewood, resulting in a rich and balanced tone.

These guitars are lightweight and well-balanced, making them comfortable for both live performances and studio sessions. The finish is subtly glossy, highlighting the wood grain, and individual tuners ensure precise intonation across the entire neck.

Playing Experience and Collectibility

Thanks to high-quality materials, unique transducer technology, and subtle Daion design elements, the Daion BIT is highly desirable. They combine visual beauty, playing comfort, and exceptional tone. Both collectors and serious guitarists value this series for its exclusivity and versatility.
